The Harvest Brunch
Chestnut pancakes, roast pear, brown butter and a pinch of Bex salt. For every Harvest plate, we post CHF 2 to Rives Propres, the volunteers who keep our shoreline clean every Saturday morning.

We turned the counter where letters were weighed into a coffee bar, and the sorting room into a dining room with a view of the lake. Come slowly, stay a while, write a postcard.
Wish you were here!

Brunch timeEach season a small roaster takes over our filter bar. This autumn it’s Nebelhorn from the Emmental hills: a washed Ethiopian that tastes of bergamot, a honey-processed Costa Rica, and one wild Colombian we can’t stop pouring.
Coffee timeBrunch every day from nine until half past two, at a window on the lake
Swiss mountain classics meet the plates we fell for on our travels: crisp rösti with poached eggs and lake trout, buckwheat galettes, bircher the way it was first meant, figs and whipped ricotta on sourdough, and a stack of lemon pancakes for anyone who is still on holiday.
Everything is made in our kitchen behind the old stamp counter, with milk, flour and eggs from farms you can see from the terrace on a clear day.
Save me a seatSpecialty coffee from the first tram to the last light on the lake
Espresso on a lever machine we found in a Lausanne attic, a filter bar with a guest roaster every season, and the flat white that started it all. Our house beans come from roasters within a hundred kilometres, and you can taste the difference.
Coffee isn’t your cup of tea?
We pour chai, matcha, hot chocolate from Broc, mountain herb teas, and fresh juice from the market on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
A room full of old letters, and a team that loves a slow morning
Poste lives in the 1924 post office on the quay. We kept the pigeonholes, the brass letter scales and the stamp counter. We added a lever espresso machine, far too many plants, and one long table for Sundays.

You wrote back. A few favourites from the letterbox by the door.
The rösti alone is worth the train from Geneva. We sat by the window for three hours and nobody once asked us to leave.

Best flat white on the lake. Inès remembered my order on my second visit. I have been back eleven times.

We wrote postcards to our grandkids at the long table while it rained over the Dents du Midi. Perfect morning.

The Harvest pancakes. The pear. The brown butter. I have no further notes.
